About us

The Friends of the Belmont Library are a non-profit organization that brings together people who view their local library as a treasury of knowledge, information, and entertainment.

We are a tax deductible, charitable organization whose mission is to promote community support and use of the Belmont Library. Since its inception in 1974, Friends of the Belmont Library has raised money through membership, donations, and book sales to sponsor library programs and cultural events for children and adults. Membership dues and donations also pay for materials and equipment not supplied by the library budget.

How can you help?

  • Join and become a member of Friends of the Belmont Library.
  • Shop for gently used books at the “Friends Store” located at the library.
  • Donate your gently used books, videos, DVDs, and other reading materials to Friends of the Belmont Library.
  • Volunteer your time and talents. The Friends are always looking for new board members and volunteers.
  • Finally please consider donations, monetary bequests, or endowments.
