The Friends’ Big Gift Reignites Belmont Library Magic

The Belmont Library is back — and better than ever!

Friends of the Belmont Library President, Pat Barkett, was “pleased as punch” to present a generous $125,000 check to the Belmont City Council, a gift that’s already making waves in the community.

With its doors wide open, the renovated Belmont Library has reclaimed its role as a vibrant hub of learning, creativity, and connection:

  • Mornings come alive with story times and the joyful buzz of curious young minds.
  • Afternoons see students diving into the Maker Space and Study Zones, building, tinkering, and collaborating.
  • Throughout the day, older adults find calm and companionship in the Reading Room.
  • And the programming? It’s back with a vengeance—featuring book clubs, author talks, and cultural events that draw crowds and spark conversation.

Be sure to check out the enclosed calendar of events to explore the full spectrum of offerings. Whether you’re a lifelong reader, a budding inventor, or just looking for a welcoming space, the Belmont Library has something for you.

We can’t wait to welcome you back!
